problem

It was a dream come true having the opportunity to work with the local team I grew up watching. I joined half way through the 2018–2019 season and learned the power of a robust brand's reach and engagement with its fanbase.

solution

For the seasonal campaign, the brand went into a rugged yet methodical aesthetic that emphasizes the team's tenacity, hunger for greatness, and bubbling talent. As part of the design team, I was tasked to help extend apply the aesthetic to other pieces of content, from game day magazines to digital and social media content.

For fellow hockey fans out there, it was Elias Pettersson's first season with the Canucks, where he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's rookie of the year.
